DeleteTeachers still make me weak in the knees. I had some great teachers and they might not have look like these ladies. I know one thing when they were unhappy with you. Make no mistake you were sore and full of shame.
ReplyDeleteI did have a couple of beautiful teachers - Miss Newland in 5th grade got annoyed with the class, plunked a high stool like the one in my illo down at the front of the classroom, and shook her pointer stick, threatening to put the next misbehaver over it and promised they would get the point they'd missed before.
DeleteMiss Ballantine in 7th grade often showed up in a tennis skirt, having run a gym class just prior.
Brutal.
Oh yes yes yes! Is there anything better than strict teachers and school uniforms?

A very nice and timely post. I am sure the rule is almost universal, If you get it in school, you can expect another session with the hairbush, when you get home. I sometimes wondered if some of those teachers took a bit of delight knowing most were going to be getting a second blistering with the back of mom's hairbrush.
